Why is Professional Teeth Cleaning Important?
Plaque that harbours bacteria can develop even when you brush and floss after each meal and before going to bed. Teeth will eventually start to deteriorate, which could cause pain or even partial or complete tooth loss.
What is Plaque and Calculus?
A sticky, white film called plaque is continually forming on your teeth. In plaque, bacteria produce acids that erode teeth and irritate gum tissue. Your body's inflammatory response to this irritation might eventually result in gingivitis and periodontal disease.
Plaque becomes calculus if it is not routinely eliminated by brushing and flossing your teeth (also known as tartar). Only a dentist can get rid of calculus during an oral cleaning; a toothbrush cannot do it. It is crucial to brush your teeth twice a day, floss at least once a day, and visit your dentist for routine cleanings if you want to keep plaque and calculus under control.
